Welcome...

There has always been a debate as to whether extra-curricular activites in schools are a means of introducing children into the learning environment through taking part in activities which interest and motivate them, essentially intergrating them into the school both physically and socially. However is it just a cue for creating in and out-groups throughout the school and therefore prehaps the reason for children becoming excluded. Please give your opinions...

  1. I think the traditional approach to out of hours activities is still a good one. Children can follow their interests in a safe and supervised environment. However, increasingly, as community projects increase and internet access becomes more pervasive, I think we may see a decrease in school based extra-curricular and out of hours activities. Good first post Rob - keep it going :-)
